Compliance Assistance Program (CAP)
- What is the Compliance Assistance Program (CAP)?
-
The CAP is a program offered by the Wickenburg Town Court to help individuals resolve past-due court obligations for certain type of cases that have a balance due. CAP allows a defendant to obtain a payment schedule and have all holds released without the delay of seeing a judge. A down payment is required in order to go on this program.
- What if I don’t have the money to pay the “down payment” amount immediately?
-
Staff encourages you to contact the court to obtain case-specific information. Please note that the CAP requirements and/or amounts may change if you receive additional charges or if additional fees required by law are added during the processing of pending charges.
- What if I have an active warrant with the Wickenburg Town Court?
-
If the warrant is for failure to pay fines and fees, you are eligible to participate. Call the court at 928-684-5451 to confirm what type of warrant you have.
- How long will it take to sign-up for CAP and complete the process?
-
The time it takes is based on the complexity of your case file or the number of pending cases you may have. Generally, expect at least an hour.
- Do I have to appear in-person at the Wickenburg Town Court to participate in the program?
-
No, you can call the court and the information will be given to you over the phone. You can make your first payment over the phone with a credit card. If it is determined that you will mail in the payment, staff will give you further instructions.
- What do I have to do to get my driver license?
-
You must contact the Arizona MVD at 602-252-0052. Participating in CAP will release any registration holds you may have. Keep in mind that if you owe other courts and are in collection status with them, your registration hold will remain.
- What happens if I don’t make the payment on the Court’s payment agreement?
-
Failure to make your payment on time will result in all holds back on your case. If you can’t make a payment, you are encouraged to contact the court.
- If my charges return to non-compliance, may I apply for CAP a second time?
-
Yes, you qualify. Contact the Court at 928-684-5451 for the down payment amount that needs to be paid.
- What if I want to see the judge instead of the court clerk?
-
You may come in at 9 am on a Wednesday morning, to speak to the judge as a walk-in.
