About Margaret
Margaret Nyberg moved to Wickenburg in 2014 from Lake Havasu City, where she lived for 15 years and served on the City Council for 7 years, including one year as Vice Mayor. She chose Wickenburg for its authentic Western atmosphere, which reminds her of her upbringing in Washington state.
A dedicated volunteer, Margaret is deeply involved in the Wickenburg community. She was named Volunteer of the Year at the Sigler Western Museum and is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, volunteering at various events. Margaret enjoys engaging with local residents, listening to their ideas, and addressing their needs as citizens of Wickenburg.
Prior to her retirement, Margaret had a rewarding 38-year career as a teacher, also coaching a variety of high school sports. Her passion for supporting youth and adult activities remains a driving force in her efforts on the Town Council.
Having witnessed the challenges that come with growth, Margaret is committed to working collaboratively with all Wickenburg residents to address the town's evolving needs. Her leadership and volunteerism, including being named Citizen of the Year by the Havasu Elks Lodge, demonstrate her dedication to community service and her strong desire to help Wickenburg thrive.
